Les meilleurs hôtels à Santa Fe

With an intense cobalt sky and a picturesque location at the feet of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Sante Fe is infused with a curious light and a sense of the mystical that have inspired countless writers and artists, including painter Georgia O’Keeffe. New Mexico’s enchanting capital is one of the oldest cities in the United States, with Pueblo Indian presence stretching back a thousand years. The city center, scented with pinyon pine, still reflects the Spanish colonial layout, with narrow streets radiating out from the central plaza, where local craftspeople sell turquoise jewelry and other wares in the adobe portico of the 17th-century Palace of the Governors.
Think Southwestern chic and you've got a handle on Santa Fe. Even the fast food joints near the historic downtown are built to look adobe. Santa Fe is the second-oldest city in America and should rightly celebrate its heritage. Hispanic, Native American and European traditions meet here. Chili peppers are a staple. Art flourishes. Recently, the city has become a magnet for artists and dealers. Dozens of galleries and museums dot the city (and the Web). The art is often inspired by the southwestern landscape, which also attracts outdoor enthusiasts. The Rio Grande runs near Santa Fe; you can navigate class V rapids if so inclined. The Santa Fe National Forest rims the city; you can hike in it in the summer and ski in it in the winter (don't let the southern latitude fool you: some of the peaks top 13,000 feet). Santa Fe attracts tranplants from all over the country -- people drawn to its culture and climate. It's likely you'll find ranchers, herbalists, scientists and government types (it's the state capital) all at the local taco stand.
