“The chateau is a real gem of a place. In a beautiful, quiet village from which we walked easily to a nearby chapel in the hills before supper, it has views over the surrounding countryside and a lovely courtyard garden full of flowering shrubs and plants with seating to read and relax in. The proprietor did all he could to make us welcome. The hotel is clearly a labour of love for him. There is a small pool in a sunlit corner which was most welcome and refreshing as we had biked to the hotel from Carcassonne. The evening meal was delicious with a good selection of wines. The rooms are high ceilinged, smell enticingly of lavender and have gorgeous heavy linen on the beds which are supremely comfortable. We slept very well! It was lovely opening the shutters onto the sunlit garden in the morning.”
