“The building was beautifully restored to give a very comfortable room and bathroom. There was a sitting room upstairs. We had a lovely dinner, and breakfast and felt that the meals were specially provided for us.”

“I really liked the staff, especially the two sisters who run the establishment - they went out of their way to make sure my stay was exceptional. I was a little concerned that evening because there were a lot of people in the bar downstairs and it was noisy at times...but by 11:00 p.m. it was totally quiet. The emphasis was on the comfort of the hotel guests as opposed to the patrons of the bar. Also, the tapas were excellent!”

“The hotel is just 15 minutes drive from Haro, so if one wants to visit Bodega wineries, it is a perfect base. The room was very comfortable and a joy to stay in, the general decor of the hotel is really nice and kept to a very high standard, the food and drink was of a high standard and the service was second to none and we were made really welcome. There is a little patio area to the side where you can relax with a drink amongst the locals that meet there. The whole experience was excellent and there are not many of these wonderful hotels left. Highly recommended and if we are in the area again, we will not hesitate to stay here once more. Special thanks to the owners and staff who were lovely and fun to be with (and also very knowledgeable with regard to the excellent Rioja wines they have).”

“Friendly staff. Very willing to help, even though they did not speak English. Prior to us arriving they knew we spoke English, so they had set up a translator on the computer. Rooms may have seem small by North American standards, but good size by European standards.”
