“This is a lovely hotel, in a lovely town. The building itself is what you would expect, but there is a very big effort to make it cosy and homely, and it succeeds. The staff are a real team, and you get a 'home away from home' feeling. Having things like live music is unusual these days, and the selection of beers is also pretty good. Had a 'Pie and Pint' two nights running, which was delicious and excellent value for money.”

“Oh where do I begin, best hotel breakfast ever, such a great selection, everything you could possibly want and more! Really lovely rooms we stayed in, super comfy bed, pristine sheets and towels, good quality furniture, very helpful friendly staff, attractive small town with loads of restaurants, theatre, cinema, shops etc., in a good location for places to go and see. Would definitely hope to return.”
“Breakfast was brilliant. Cooked fresh from scratch and no request was too much trouble. Nice to have veggie option. The free bath salts in the room were gorgeous and the bed was comfy. There was also a view of the hills from the room.”
