“Really cute room, lots of room, and surprisingly new. Very spacious, comfortable beds, good breakfast (but not exceptionally so). Well appointed bath. Attached restaurant good as well, and serving until 10. A bit out of town but had really nice views. Would recommend in a second.”

“A nice quiet little hotel in the countryside, clean and comfortable. Don't be confused (as I was) by the sign, which says "Hotel Svartiskógur", rather than "Guesthouse" - we drove past and up the 917 for another 20km before returning. The photograph in the description should have helped, but I hadn't noticed it. We drove into Egilsstaðir (about 30 km) for dinner - none was offered at the hotel. Breakfast was good. Our room, with private bath, was next to the shared bathroom, and I was worried that we would be disturbed by nocturnal flushings, but nothing bothered us. Subjectively, this place felt to me to be the most Icelandic and least international of all the places we stayed.”
