“Whilst the location and external setting of the hotel are a little odd (close to a commercial/industrial area - though no disturbance/noise when we were there at a weekend), the interior and service was great. Lovely historic building and beautiful good-sized bedroom with shower room and a private little outside terrace. The staff we met were charming and eager to help. The dining area had a vaulted ceiling, and felt quite upmarket. The breakfast was an absolute bargain at only 6 euros for a huge choice of items. The evening meal in the restaurant was also very good value for money, an extensive and not expensive wine list.”

“The hotel was based on an old building which meant that it had an attractive feel to it. The bathroom was very well appointed and the bedroom was large with comfortable beds and interesting old furniture.”

“The food was absolutely delicious. I had monkfish one evening and grouper the next and it was cooked to perfection. I must also mention the staff who were so helpful and friendly despite our almost complete lack of Spanish. We stayed in Azpeitia in order to visit the Basque railway museum, which was fascinating, while our partners visited the birthplace of Ignatius Loyola, which they found equally interesting. We weren't sure about our choice of hotel at first because it is next to a large wood yard, but I'm so pleased we stayed there. It was so welcoming and the whole experience was wonderful.”

“Brilliantly located for driving through the magnificent verdant hills and valleys of the area. Spacious room with comfortable beds and balcony. Good dinner and excellent breakfast. Off road parking. Very friendly staff. What isn't to like?!”

“A small hotel full of character and atmosphere. Warm , friendly welcoming staff , two warm comfortable rooms and a breakfast to keep us going all day on our drive back to Portugal. We arrived in fog, we had no indication we were in an industrial area , no noise or traffic. Sadly the restaurant was shut - on of the main reasons the hotel was chosen , but we were given a very good recommendation Have I said how amazing the breakfast was ? We cannot wait to return for a longer stay to explore the Basque country, their hospitality is amazing. Wi-fi worked excellently.”
