“I booked to stay one night intending to tour round the area staying in different places and ended up staying 3 nights as I loved it so much. I had a large double room with a good sized terrace that looked out towards the castle. I was travelling with my 3 dogs and the hotel was very dog friendly with all the staff turning out to say hello to my dogs! The national park around the reservoir was perfect for walking the dogs and maps showing the routes are available for the tourist office. It is also possible to drive down to the reservoir to the area they loosely call a beach. Ideal as there was a heat wave when I was staying and my old dog was finding walking to much. The surrounding town is lovely and full of historic features.”
