“Absolutely unique place in a great historical context. The menu of the restaurant is out of the ordinary, based on seasonal and traditional cuisine. A trip through the historical center is a must!”
“Buffet breakfast was good, and the same tables were reserved for the stay for all meals. The evening meals were excellent and reasonable. The Hotel had a Bavarian type decor. The walls were decorated with paintings and sketches. Hence the name "Malkasten" - Paintbox. The staff were very friendly and helpful.”
“Hidden gem of a village! Loved walking around at night and our hotel was right in the center. Hotel was a perfect! ! Dinner was excellent. Rooms were clean and pretty furniture. The paintings throughout the hotel were fun to look at. Breakfast was wonderful”
“Wonderful medieval atmosphere in this Lippe village, with cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses bearing carved names, designs and messages above the doors from owners who built or expanded them in the 17th, 18th & 19th centuries. Very quiet. Our room had wonderful banks of windows overlooking a peaceful hillside at nearby houses at the edge of the old town. We also had a small balcony and comfortable seating in the room.”
