“It would be unfair to review Hotel de la Plage now as it closes in November 2017 for refurbishment. A review of our stay in October would precede the works and be unrepresentative of the refurbished hotel that subsequent guests would experience. That it is in need of refurbishment is clear though, the place being something of a homage to the 1970s. However, once the works are completed, the location and the staff will remain, and both are excellent. The staff are engaged in their jobs, interested in their guests, and fluent in a number of languages, while the location - directly on the Port Vieux beach - provides both visual delight and the whole town by foot.”
