“Great view of the beach from my balcony. Remote town on the road from Cartagena to Santa Marta so a nice rest stop. Very nice staff who really do treat you like family. Excellent swimming pool which is perfect after a dip in the ocean. Decent meals in the restaurant but a limited selection. The whole place is worth it just for the balcony overlooking the sea and the great night sleep the sound of the wind and sea bring.”

“We were there for three days and the most memorable thing about Juanmar is the way Maria and Elkin- the owners- bend over backwards to make your stay the best stay ever. When I asked Elkin where I could find some good salsa music, he brought his computer over so I could tape the great music he had! The breakfast is not included BUT you can order anything you want including pancakes and they will make it for you. The beach is like the backyard of the hotel. It is not crowded, there are chairs and it is a great place to swim. Rooms are cleaned on a daily base. You can eat all your meals there and the food is good. You are also at walking distance of restaurants on the beach. Barranquilla is an hour away and you can catch the bus a block away. It is a quiet place; all you hear is the ocean waves. Thank you Maria and Elkin for a lovely stay, we'll be sure to stop in again should we return to Colombia.”
“The owners were great hosts. They couldn't do enough for us. Elkin drove us to town to exchange money, told us sights to see and the best kiteboard spots. He even launches your kite for you. You can even kite in front of hotel. The breakfasts were amazing consisting of fresh fruit and variety of eggs and sausage and off course coffee. One of our crew had a birthday so they had party. Al says he has never had party like that before. We will be back😀 Thank you Elkin and Maria for the wonderful time😁😁we all miss you.”
“The hotel is situated near the best kitesurf spots in Colombia. The owner and his wife with their 2 sons live in the hotel and are always there for you. The owner will drive you to the kitesurf spots whenever you like. Or you can do a downwinder to Salinas from the hotel. They have a rinse area and a stock room for your kitesurf gear. The rooms get cleaned every day, the beds are so comfortable, the showers have a lot of pressure. The staff is super friendly. Food is traditional and really tasty. Breakfast comes with fruit or jugo. There are some small shops in the area. The vibe in the hotel is fantastic and you feel part of their family. Colombian style!”
