“A charmingly old fashioned hotel, with proper table cloths, round plates, real bread; not a table runner, no glasses for soup, no 'interesting' shaped plates in sight and even a real water glass in the bedroom instead of a plastic beaker. The owner is very friendly, the hotel is warm and welcoming and the building old and interesting with a marvellous staircase. Our meal was well cooked with lots of vegetables and the best crème brulee I have had in years, it had been properly grilled so had a delicious hot topping without the aid of the ubiquitous blow torch so beloved of modern chefs.”
