Les meilleurs hôtels à Chongqing

Once called Chungking, the commercial and industrial hub of China's southwestern Sichuan Province is now known as Chongqing. A subtropical climate makes for muggy summers and mild winters here, but throughout the year, tourists come for river cruises along the famed Three Gorges, to bathe in area hot springs, and to consider local history (Chongqing was the Nationalist capital of China). Downtown Chongqing is magnificent, cut-through by rivers and sprawling over hills. (No wonder it's Seattle's sister city.) Of course, Chongqing is also great for Sichuan cuisine, like Zhang tea cooked duck, steamed carp, marinated beef, and bean curd. Chongqing lies in hill country, at the Jaling and upper Yangtze Rivers confluence. Silk, citrus fruit, tea, and grain are its main exports. Abundant mineral resources in the region facilitate local production of trucks, motorcycles, and metals. Chongqing's wider metro area is home to 10.2 million people, 40 percent of whom are industrial workers.
