Turin (or Torino) is Italy's automobile capital. That's thanks to Fiat, which came of age during World War I, and now enjoys a virtual monopoly among Italian car manufacturers. It's alleged to be the very cloth wrapped around Christ after his crucifixion. Well, carbon dating relegated the Shroud to "most remarkable forgery in history" status, and it's hidden from public view in a locked chapel. Yet, relics in Turin's National Historic Artillery Museum and various automobile exhibits are readily accessible to tourists.
