“The cheerful owners 'go the extra mile' and add little touches to your stay such as a welcome drink, free water, fridge in room, help with parking and most of all, friendliness and helpfulness. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the extensive 'open wines' to buy by the glass a useful idea. We loved it!”

“Blokzijl is a cute village and the Auberge sits centrally in a quiet corner. The rooms are huge and super clean. The beds very comfortable and the breakfast that is served is fabulous. Frans and Selma are wonderful hosts. We have been in Holland for 10 days and this was by far the most delicious meal and very reasonably priced. It's worth driving to Blokzijl just for the cuisine. The restaurant is also very spacious making for a relaxing environment. There is also a terrace but since it was cold and rainy during our stay we were happy to sit "gezeleg" inside.”

“We were made very welcome. Breakfast has the personal touch, varied, we never left hungry. The restaurant meals in the evening were excellent. The harbour is only 2 minutes walk, even so the room was really quiet. A lovely place to visit for a short break.”

“Nice and really big room with a separated corner with two chairs and a table. Some kitchen facilities like fridge, espresso machine, glasses, plates and cutlery. Strong and decaffeinated espresso capsules, as well as tea provided. Free still and sparkling water bottles inside the fridge. The owner welcomed us with two small bottles of good French red wine. Highly recommend the delicious breakfast made by Selma, one of the family owners. Fantastic, gourmet food and great variety of wines is served in the cozy restaurant. We will definitely come back again for a longer stay.”

“Nice comfortable room, bigger than we expected with mini kitchen, no cooking but a table and chairs, mini refrigerator and a few dishes. It was across the patio from the restaurant and the breakfast room and the food was wonderful. They provided a small bottle of wine and multiple bottles of water in the room. The bed was very comfortable and our room had a nice tub in addition to a shower. We liked the town and would stay here again.”
