“You could not ask for a better location in this picture-perfect old town: the hotel hosts a street café on the landward side, while the best rooms and the lovely, atmospheric dining room face the harbour and the waterfront. Breakfast was delicious and charmingly served; while the night we chose to dine in the formal restaurant was a real treat, with exceptional cooking and an extensive and fine wine list. We were tempted by the offer of bike hire. We hadn't ridden any distance for about 40 years but it's true that you don't forget and the terrain is perfect for the novice, with lots of separated cycle paths, lovely scenery and no hills. The hotel has been in the ownership of the same family for nearly 70 years. Among other paintings well worth a look, there is a fine portrait of the father of the current owner hanging in the restaurant.”
