“Casa San Marcos is a jewel in the center of old town Quito. Mayra (the proprietor) did a fantastic job restoring this historic property. The entire hotel is adorned with beautiful antiques...felt like we were staying in our own private museum. The staff (Estephania and Elvas) made us feel like family and exceeded all of our expectations.”
“The king bed was quite comfortable and the location was reasonable”
“Staff are great. The hotel itself is spectacular. History in every nook and cranny. You won't stay in a more beautiful hotel.”
“Funky authentic house; great breakfast in pleasant surroundings; host Augusto is charming and helpful.”
“Wonderful staff, couldn't be more accommodating. My daughter and I stayed there 3 separate times in 3 separate rooms, with breakfast every day (included), and two terrific dinners. There were few other guests, which was a shame because they took such good care of us. Very close to the presidential palace, perfect location. Had a cab for us right on time when we had to leave for the airport at 2:30am. Delightful experience!”
“Absolutely stunning artwork and furnishings. Really have a true feel of a colonial casa quiteña. The room was very comfortable (we were in the attic). We spent some time having a drink in one of the sitting rooms, which was wonderful. Breakfast was great and the staff were so attentive and lovely. My last night in Ecuador was completely enhanced due to this lovely place.”
“Staff super friendly and helpful. Daniel, Agusto, Rosa Food - home cooking and delicious! thank you Clara!”
“It was very artsy. A colonial house that was gorgeous. It was very close to the historical part of Quito.”
“The entire staff team were so accommodating and friendly to us, especially Santiago. My friend and I really appreciated how much the staff go above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. I highly recommend this unique boutique hotel!”
“We were especially impressed by the attentiveness, courteousness, and friendliness of the staff. It started from the moment we booked our reservation, when Augusto (the general manager) contacted us to ask how he could make our visit more enjoyable - and it continued to the moment we had to bid a sad farewell. And that goes for all the staff, including Santiago, Rosa, and Clara. When my daughter got sick, they sent up chicken noodle soup and made sure she always had hot tea and honey - on their own initiative. When we asked directions to a local restaurant that was slightly off the beaten path, Santiago walked us to it. Augusto was there personally to help us with our luggage despite our very late check-in. Every detail was lavishly attended to. We travel all over the world, to some very exotic locations where top-notch service is de rigueur, but nowhere were we treated any better - or more like family - than at the Casa San Marcos!”
