“The Colonial Inn has one of the most welcoming hosts I have ever met. Add this to the wonderful ambiance and fascinating decor and you have a destination worth a visit just for itself. And the bed was so very comfortable too!”
“I liked very much the authenticity of the place and the kindness of the owner and his friends!”
“This Place was out of this world and we will be going back for sure. There is something magical about the Inn. So much history, it was a GREAT time!”
“Steve, the host and owner is a most wonderful and sweet guy ! The property is simply too charming with knick knacks and antiques dating back over a century - having been built by a cousin of the second president of the United States. Do not expect hotel like service, but go with a 'soak in the place & let me lend a hand' attitude, to spend time with Steve and friends on the property. The surrounding areas make for wonderful walks, with a lake and an abandoned rail road that you shouldn't miss. As for Isabel, Ella and a Bear story, go there yourself and ask Steve :)”
“First of all, owner Steve is one of the nicest gents you'll ever meet. His good taste and charm is evident as soon as you walk in, this place is no doubt a labor of love. There's antiques galore and a couple resident dogs that have the run of the place, it's nearly a museum but much cooler...it really settles the soul just stepping inside. This Saturday night the bar was a lively place to relax and make new friends, my wife and I traveled by motorcycle with our friends and found a great little crowd, just lots of good vibes, great oldies on the juke box and laughter all around....if you're looking for a spit polished place to go show off you're new iPhone just move along, but if you're ready to let your hair down enjoy real hospitality, give it a go...we can't wait to return. Thanks Steve, Butch and all!!”
“The staff running this place are awesome and make it feel like you're a part of the family from the moment you get there. The decor is weirdly amazing and about as Americana as it gets. In the morning one of the staff called outside to us to come back in for breakfast and made us French toast and eggs himself!”
“The owner was friendly and helpful. The two dogs were friendly and gave the place a homey feel. Breakfast was good and quite filling. The antique decor throughout was fascinating.”
“Steve is great. Very friendly. Small quaint town. The facility is full of antiques which is very nice.”
“I stayed there during the week, so there was no breakfast or dinner. There was only me and and a doctor and his wife. The owner has spent a lot of time buying things for the inn. He has a good eye for quality art, statues at bargain prices. On the weekend, he can feed 150 to 200 people, he said. The owner used to hunt, so he has trophies on the walls. The place is an artifact in a way.”
“Perfect location for family stopping by on road trip. Easy acess good value for money good location at malls and resturants kitchenette”
