“The location was fabulous, right in the countryside where the silence was deafening. The restaurant, which was attached but not a part of the hotel, was well frequented by local people. What better recommendation can you get? The food was lovely and the waitresses were great. Having limited German, they helped us choose from their delicious menu. We also had some local brewed beer which was full flavoured (and quite intoxicating). The owner of the hotel, which he informed us was a former mill, was quite effusive and informative of the local area and of the history of the hotel/mill which they have renovated to the highest standard. They also run a horse carriage training school with some magnificent white horses similar to the Lippizaner. If you want to sample German hospitality (and cuisine) at its best, head for Eulenmuhle.”
