“No breakfast here, but Elba is a wonderful caretaker and a kind and generous host. The kitchen's available for storing and cooking purchases. One has to walk the .7 mile to Vilcambamba, but it's a pleasant and easy trek. Alternatively, there's the alternate dirt road that's probably a mile-and-a-half bringing one out right at the main entrance to town. Lots of gringos, but this is a fine place to rest away from the noise that predominates in towns of the same size or bigger in Ecuador. Great place to stay.”

“The house was quiet and surrounded by beautiful gardens. You could walk to town in 15 minutes or take a cab for $1.25. Next door is the Hosteria Vilcabamba and the menu is inexpensive and very tasty for lunch and dinner. We asked for a change in the breakfast and the hostess worked with us. We will go back!”

“The lady of the house was very kind, always ready to help. The shower was warm and the beds very sturdy. The room was well furnished, with a large wardrobe to store clothes, night stand and a big mirror. ”
