“Hotel le 23 in Sauternes was wonderful. It was stylish and comfortable, clean and quiet. The place looked and felt new - the bed was comfortable, the shower spacious, the windows and shutters soundproof. The chap at reception was really friendly, and quickly offered us a spot to store our bicycles when we arrived. Breakfast was extra but well worth the cost. We had a very good dinner, as well, at the associated restaurant, called l'Auberge des vignes. It is obvious that the owner puts a lot of passion in his managing his property and in keeping his guests happy! The tiny town of Sauternes was very pretty and the surrounding countryside was stunning, with interesting wineries to visit during the day and amazing star-gazing at night. I highly recommend this location and this hotel!”
