“This was a transit stop for us - and deteriorating weather conditions did not help. We stayed on a Monday night - beware of the "lundi fermee" syndrome in France. The hotel management made some restaurant suggestions in Vienne - but also offered us the option of a sampling platter of local produce, and of course the local wines. Given the weather conditions we opted for the latter. The food platter for 2 was huge - offering a great selection of local charcutrie and cheeses. As regards wines we were spoilt for choice with both local Cote Roti and other Rhone wines available. The room was simple but clean. The bed could have been a little larger, but otherwise OK. The breakfast selection was simple - if you want cheese and cold cuts these need to be ordered separately. As earlier mentioned the weather was bad when we stayed and I'm sure that there is plenty to visit and see (wine-wise) in the area.”
