“I especially liked the receptionist - he was so friendly and helpful. He was just a pleasure. He gave us the one room that was already available before the official check-in time, and the other 2 when we returned later. He helped carry our bags up from the street. And he could sell us discounted bus tickets, for our visit to the Matisse and Chagall museums. This is a very French hotel, so not like a faceless Holiday Inn or Marriott in the US. It has more character, but not as much modernity. The room furnishings are older, but the beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms modern, if small. The windows were double paned, and have French shutters to close, so it was very quiet even though it's on a city street. Location was great, a short walk to the water, the large Place Massena, and the old town. Breakfast is available for 10 Euros, and it looked quite good, including eggs. We didn't try it since one of us wanted to find a cafe to sit outside in the sun. All in all, excellent French hotel at a great price”

“I would describe the hotel as quite basic (but clean) but I absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic, just 10 minutes from the beach. What made this hotel is the staff, the owner particularly was really helpful and went out of his way to help - printing out my boarding pass, lending me cutlery, marking bus stops on a map. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. The shower was on the small side (or perhaps I'm too large!). Yes, the wifi only worked in reception, but I didn't spend much time in my room anyway.”
