“I had a lovely late evening walk round the grounds listening to the owls! We had evening meal at the hotel which was delicious. The room was big and comfy. We had an upgrade. This was a return visit. For hotel prices the cold buffet breakfast here is lower price than most and good value. It is a charming historic hotel. Rustic, stately and beautiful.”

“Beautiful place, friendly staff. But I was put in a tiny, dark room where the TV could not be seen from the bed. They moved me straightaway into a much better room where the radiator was scalding hot (it was a warm day) and could not be turned off. I spent the evening before my business dinner sitting on the windowsill in order to try and cool down.”
“The very large bed was extremely comfortable, very spacious room well furnished and as a dog friendly room was perfect with its own door to the garden and patio area. Loved the large garden orchard and fresh vegetable flower plots.”
“We got held up en route and had to go straight to an event elsewhere without checking in first. The reception staff on the phone were charming and reassuring and said it would be no problem appearing at 1.30 am. Indeed we were met warmly and escorted to our room by a cheerful night porter, who was also very kind, giving us a very convenient parking spot. We had a lovely comfortable room with good sized and well appointed bathroom.”
