“The rooms where extremely small and had no ventilation. The room and hotel overall is in need of renovation - it looks and feels dreary beyond the main reception. Breakfast was extremely poor - unorganized and very limited options. On the first morning there were no plates or cutlery available and so we had no choice but to use napkins and hands. Location seemed it was in a very poor neighborhood with many drunk's and beggers. Overall extremely disatisfied and excessively over priced.”

“The mattress was very comfortable, the white cotton sheets and quilt cover were very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A good selection of breads, and was pleased with the fresh fruit salad, plenty of everything and topped up all the time. We were here to see our grand daughter who leaves in Old Lille and loved that we were a 15 minute walk from everything.”

“The staff (late evening arrival) was outstanding in trying to help our with the bad smell in the room. Nothing helped however. The next day, I did not have a chance to see the manager due to early leaving, but received directly a mail offering to refund a large part of the bill. To my feeling a friendly and adequate reaction for which I am grateful. They indicated they were immediately taking action in the room to make sure no other guest would suffer the same situation. The location is good, real close to the theater and some nice eateries and walking distance to the city. If you are on a budget and your expectations are of a basic hotel, it's a OK place (as long as the smell is taken care of!)”
