“I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the property. The staff were friendly and helpful without exception. The room was a good size with a balcony overlooking the pool. I recommend asking for one of those. There is a mini-fridge in the room and a Olympica grocery store just a 10 minute walk from the hotel where I bought beer, fresh fruit & snacks every day. There are also lots of great places near that to buy rotisserie or fried chicken for lunch. The pool was large and most of the time I felt like I it was my private pool! Breakfast was included. It included scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, tea, cereal etc. Basic but very good. The restaurant serves lunch & dinner too. My favourites were the chicken with mushrooms & the pan fried fish.”
“The Altamar Hotel is like an oasis in the area of Bosque/Cartagena. My room (#104) has a small balcony overlooking the pool. I recommend that guests request a similar room. The room itself was a generous size, with a large bathroom & shower. The bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping staff kept it spotless during my entire stay. The general areas as well as the pool are constantly being cleaned & maintained by very pleasant & efficient staff. From the moment I arrived for my 4 week stay on February 23 the front desk staff, restaurant staff & housekeeping staff have all been gracious & helpful. Particularly Johann, who speaks very credible English (rare in Colombia). I will in fact miss them when I leave!”
