“Central location and clean, new building. Staff were friendly but a little over helpful after long trip their by plane and 1.5 hrs in taxi from MDE airport (taxi was $120 mil pesos). Guatape is worth overnight to see painted and cheery buildings and a climb up La Piedra. Easy to catch medium size bus to north bus station and metro in Medellin ~$5 and 2 hrs). Bathroom was quite nice.”

“Hotel Benjamar is a terrific choice for your stay in Guatape. The location is terrific, right on the waterfront and very close to all the wonderful streets in town. Great value for the money. The staff was also terrific. The employee doesn't speak too much English but is very helpful and courteous. The owner, in particular, made my visit amazing. He is very friendly and helpful: even helped me find a boat tour of the reservoir (for a much better rate than the outfits along the water) and cooked up a custom breakfast for me in the morning. The facilities are basic but the wifi signal is strong and the showers are hot.”

“Very good working staff...due to renovations you do have to step out to have breakfast to a near by restaurant or you can have it delivered directly to your room it's a small town so everything is within walking distance ..the bathrooms are very modern with hot/cold water wi-fi Lcd screen tv the room where very clean i will be coming back to this hotel i recommend getting balcony !!!!”

“Great value for money! Everything in the room was new, clean and we had everything for comfortable 2 nights stay! This hotel has great location - in front of the lake and just nearby restaurants and shops. The owner is really nice and helpful with all informations and boat tour arrangement. He speaks very good English. Internet was fine, breakfast ok. We had the room with the lake room which is nice but you can hear the noise from the street. Definitely recommend to stay here for 1-2 nights to discover beauty of Guatape and the area of La Piedra!”
