“The hotel is out of the main town. No more than 5 mins on foot. Because of the hotel parking it would also be possible to take the car. There is also very good Wheelchair access. The outlook over the lake is however breathtaking so it is worth it. The restaurant uses herbs actually grown in their own garden so they are always full flavoured. they grow all the herbs that are used in the well known Ricola sweets. A Buffet salad bar plus set menu is offered but also A-la-Carte and the food is delicious. A breakfast buffet is included in the overnight price. As much as you can eat. We didn't use them but below you have direct train connections also Lake Ferry landing and Mountain railway.”
“The rooms and restaurant had a great view of Lake Brienz, and the town. The breakfast was excellent, and we had a gourmet meal there one night. It was a short walk, although on a rather steep hill, to the center of the picturesque town. The hotel provided a shuttle when we came and left with our luggage, and the staff was helpful. Brienz has a weekly night where they have folk music, dances, alpen-horns, and flag tossing in a lakeside plaza, where they sell beer and delicious home-made pastries, etc., which really added to our stay. It seemed as much or more, a gathering where locals came to socialize, have a beer and some raclette on toast, as an event for tourists.”
