Our hotel room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. Our shower was the largest walk in shower I've ever seen! The restaurant serves fantastic food and earns its reputation as the best restaurant within a 50km radius and prices are excellent even if you are on a budget. The chef's 'Medieval' tapenade is to die for! I cannot praise The Medieval Hotel enough. Make this hotel your destination when in Portugal and you will not be disappointed. “What a gem! This beautiful, simple yet modern and elegant hotel just opened in June 2017. It was such a delight at the end of a long bike touring day. The bed was very comfortable. The staff is very sweet, welcoming, and helpful, not to mention multilingual. The restaurant is gourmet-- our compliments to the chef! Penedono is a beautiful town, and the plaza outside the hotel has recently been remodeled.”

“We liked it so much that we extended our stay and already booked for a next trip. All was perfect: breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel's nice restaurant and the drinks in the adjacent bar. Very friendly and helpful staff, attentive to all details. Wonderful interior design throughout the entire building, including the spacious rooms. The castle is right across the street and the area offers a gorgeous landscape for walks and car tours.”

“Penedono has an interesting mix of quiet little town and "medieval" props, overall a very welcoming and relaxing site. The castle is even more amazing than it looks on photos. The whole town is well ordered, very nice to stroll. The location of the hotel is unsurpassable, right across the castle door. Personnel is very friendly and professional. We had a quiet, brand new spacious room, impeccably clean and comfortable. The hotel opens into the square with a terrace and castle views. Private parking is very convenient in the center of town. We had dinner at the hotel. The menu is not surprising, but food is well prepared, the atmosphere and service very nice. Breakfast a la carte, with freshly-squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, eggs, bread, sweets. Overall very good.”

Melhor não háO pequeno almoço é muito bem servido. O quarto... Bonito, moderno, confortável. Adorei a possibilidade de fazer uma bebida quente no quarto a qualquer hora, até porque as temperaturas em penedono, nesta altura... Brrrrr ❄️E penedono é uma terra bonita e muito simpática. “Un hotel muy moderno, situado frente al castillo, en una plaza muy tranquila, un lugar muy bonito, la comida era excelente y muy bien de precio, y todo el personal del hotel encantador. Nos ha gustado mucho. Desde allí se puede visitar Vilanova de Foz Coa con el Parque Arqueológico de Foz Coa y Siega Verde y diversos dólmenes muy interesantes.”
