“This hotel is located directly on the autoway close to Valenca do Minho, is very easy to find and to get there by car. It has a big free parking, which is essential when you travel by car. It has all the necessary facilities, such as good internet, a big, slightly old-fashioned, sitting-room, a bar, full continental breakfast. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room had all necessary for the stay, was exceptionally clean, smelled of cleaning products. On the overall, a nice place to stay close to the Spanish border.”

“We were welcomed very warmly by our host family. Because we had to wash our clothes from days of pilgrimage, our host offered for us to hang our things in the basement so that they would be dry the following day. Our host gave us a box of very sweet cherries and drove us to a very nice restaurant which served very good fish dishes. Attention dear host, my husband embraced the statue of St. James for you when we reached the Cathedral of Santiago ...as you requested him to. Gracias para todo!”

The family is friendly, helpful and fluent in English (This was a pleasant surprise given the language barrier) The hotel offers free wifi and a laptop available to your demise. The rooms are clean and spacious and the hotel is quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed a convenient, lovely breakfast which most hotels here do not offer. Hotel Padre Cruz exceeded our expectations and is definitely value for money.”
