The owners were helpful and pleasant with particularly good recommendations for eating at local restaurants (they provide no meals, being in the very centre of town). Castres is well situated for exploring the local national park and the Montagne Noire.”

“The hotel is charming and quirky, The owners' collections of historical items and decorations (costumes, for example) placed throughout the public and guest room areas are fascinating. Each room has a theme, and they are all whimsical yet comfortable. The breakfasts (included in the price) are elaborate and delicious, served buffet style. The staff are outstanding - they provided valet parking for the rental car, excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and historical sites, and helpful maps. This lovely place is a true value and a great experience.”
