“Stunning old German schloss in an amazing hilltop setting with astounding views across both sides of the mountains.”
“Stunning location - on the top of the hill above the town - lovely winding road up to it and the castle turret right in the grounds.”
“Hotel had lovely rustic character, with friendly staff and excellent views of Black Forest from eating areas and rooms at back of hotel”
“Friendly and efficient front desk, hotel, and wait staff. We were able to check-in a couple of hours prior to official check-in time of 1600. Fabulous location with gorgeous views of the Hornberg Castle ruins and valley. Easy 5 minute walk from the hotel to the castle ruins which include interesting narrative in both English and German. Lovely breakfast that included a variety of options to satisfy anyone's diet restrictions. Enjoyed perusing a book located near the hotel's restaurant that outlined with photos the hotel's renovations in 2013 (includes a sweet photo of the owners' children). Great location just outside of Triberg. This was our second visit to Triberg and preferred staying at this hotel rather than in town (Hornberg provides a quiet backdrop and cooler temperatures to the hustle of tourists in Triberg).”
“Gpof quiet location. Excellent breakfast. Lots of hiking around.”
“Breakfast and grounds are fantastic as were meals and service from all staff.”
“wonderful location pn top a hill with excellent views and private castle on sight. there is an interactive trail on the property. beautiful garden area with playground for children. Very quiet location. Rooms were very nice. Large with comfortable beds and a good size shower area. There is no air conditioning which is typical in Europe but the windows opened and it cooled off at night. there is a small beer garden and the restaurant has very good food. Breakfast was plentiful and good. The staff was excellent. this was my favorite hotel on my entire 15 day trip through Germany & Switzerland. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to my friends.”
“Beautiful hotel in a magnificent location. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff - they even opened the restaurant for us just to have coffee and cake. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was also excellent and the cost very reasonable considering the fantastic location. The old castle ruins were very interesting and fun for the kids to explore. Lot's of play areas and places to walk dogs.”
“A beautiful old schloss and we were fortunate to spend a night there. Room large and comfortable. The restaurant has fantastic views down the valley. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Stair access only to rooms but of modern type construction (ie not small and steep).”
“.great location with beautiful view. breakfast was good and the staff are very nice. the rooms are basic but comfy and well designed”
