- Please note that reception is closed daily between 13:00 and 15:00. It is not possible to check-in during this time. However, guests can reach staff at the hotel by telephone. The contact details can be found on your confirmation.<br><br>Guests staying for at least 2 nights receive a Hochschwarzwald Card (red card). This offers over 70 leisure activities, attractions and a ski pass for the Feldberg ski resort in the Black Forest area for free. Guests are asked to please fill out the form before arrival, which they will receive via email.<br><br>As the property is located in the upper black forest area, with an elevation of more than 1,100 yards. Guests traveling by car during the winter should consider appropriate tires for the season.<br><br>Please note that dinner is not available on Sundays and Mondays. The dinner menu is a 4-course menu with starting buffet and consists of a preset main course.

“A well decorated hotel in typical Black Forest style. A lovely family hotel with a good choice of food for breakfast and a Superb Evening dinner with 3 courses for €22. Excellent choice of wines, beers and soft drinks. Stunning countryside views from our room with large balcony with very comfortable beds. Uncluttered with plenty of room and storage. Lovely relaxing pool and sauna which we used daily. Quiet lounge area. The Black Forest card gave exceptional value. The owners worked exceptionality hard and the traditional dress was lovely to see. The chef visited every table each evening to talk to guests.”

“A small family business run by a young couple with young children who do their ultimate best to make it an enjoyable stay for the guests. The way they do that deserves respect. The personal approach is special. In addition, facilities, such as swimming pool, sauna and steam room are good and clean. The breakfast was catered and very good flavor. This also applies to the diners. The menus were typical southern German accompanied by fine local wines. The (comfort) room was spacious with lovely views from the balcony. Too bad the mattresses in our room had not been renewed. According to information from their hotel directory they are working on that. A beautiful setting for walkers. From the hotel you can start right on the most beautiful walks . All walks are well marked. Overal, recommended !”
“The location is great, hotel is beautiful, quiet and well maintained, rooms were specious, clean and generally comfortable. The staff is friendly and make themselves available to help and answer questions. Breakfast is basic like with other hotels but still - it's well presented, more than satisfying, the dining room is comfortable and it has gorgeous views. Unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to try out the dinner or the spa at the hotel. We'd defiantly consider hotel Sonnenalm for another visit!”

“everything was perfect. Location , food, sauna. There is nice itallian resturant/pizzeria named pizzeria romantika .. its just perfect and best in black forest. the hosts were very nice and friendly . its really a value for money . i was there with my wife and 4 month old baby and it was just perfect. Mr richter family is very nice. since my wife is vegeterian. they made a perfect veg. food , we liked it very much. Thanks family Richter”
