The gardens and breakfast rooms are magnificent. By modern standards the room and bathroom were rather basic, and need upgrading to justify the claimed four star rating, but the unusually grand nature of the hotel, in a nice spa town very convenient for the motorway means that this can be forgiven.”

“Very unfriendly, arrogant and rude stuff, especially owner who also worked in hotel. After seeing the room, we complained that room that we booked was completely different and showed owner pictures that he has published on booking.com web site. Room that we booked was completely updated with new furniture, very bright, nice bathroom, but they gave us very old and dark room with beds in bad condition, smelly bathroom... We believe owner was drunk at that time according to alcohol smell and he literally 'threw' us out of hotel. It was quite late in the evening, our child was tired, but luckily we found another hotel for our stay. We stayed in many hotels around the world by now, but haven't had so bad experience as this time, especially attitude of the owner! Wouldn't recommend to anybody!”
