“Lovely mountain views from our spacious room, with elegant "country house in mountains" decor. We had a balcony to enjoy. We loved the gracious ambiance and the big lit fireplaces in the lobby sitting area, the bar room, and in the dining room. Dinner and breakfast seated fireside was a lovely experience, and staff in quiet cold February kept the fires lit for us! We enjoyed our country cooked dinners, and great Portugese wines. The staff were so helpful with local sightseeing suggestions, and organising taxis for us. One day I took a local bus which wound round picturesque villages enroute to see Viseu (which has a remarkable cathedral, cloisters, and a wonderful art museum next to the cathedral). Then took a taxi back, as it was late and wet. Arrived back and enjoyed being fireside! Then a hot soak in the bath before dinner: a lovely day!”
