“His hotel was a mix of old school ryokan and modern day hotel. There were meals offered on the premise most of the time however we chose to dine in town since it was an easy walk to the lake and the town. We were given an upgrade when we checked in and ended up on the top floor (fourth) looking out onto Mt Fuji. It was hypnotic. The lobby was cozy with a fire going in the fireplace in the evening. The onsen were wonderful and open for many hours. The very large shower in our individual room had the added bonus of looking out onto Mt Fuji too and the frosted lower window maintained privacy while showering. We rented motorized bicycles and were able to find the Fujiyama Museum which had a show of various artists' depiction of Mt Fuji. It was fabulous. We cruised across the lake to the Museum of Art but it, unfortunately was closed. The hotel nicely provided shuttle service to the train/bus station.”
