“Comfortable room, safe parking and friendly staff at reception and breakfast”

“We were made very welcome by host John and other staff. Breakfast was excellent, the space was large and quiet and the bar was warm and friendly with decent food.”

“We had a nice big room on 2nd floor. Main Restaurant closed in the evening due to a big party going on there. We had a nice dinner (coq au vin) in the bar. It was Saturday night, and the bar became very buzzy as the evening progressed, with a traditional band playing some great stuff. Saturday night revellers seemed to have come in from miles around, and a number of them did a turn with the band. Staff worked like Trojans, midnight hot snacks were brought around, the Guinness flowed and a great night was had by all. In-bath shower was very efficient. Reasonable towels + flannels. Decent breakfast in nice dining room. Nice walks along cliff-top, and two lovely looking beaches.”

“The atmosphere and friendliness of the staff was outstanding. The rooms were spacious and had all the facilities we needed. The location was perfect, near to the centre of town and only 5 minutes drive from the golf course. We would definitely stay at Kilcooly's Country House Hotel if we returned to Ballybunion”

“Old country style eclectic house, with authentic creaky floors, very close to town centre with pub attached. Pleasant owners who welcomed us in and showed us to our room. The pub was very busy at times. Room was light and airy, furnished in a style which suits the property, great shower over the bath. Food was excellent for dinner; breakfast could have more fresh fruit selection. Lovely period dining room. Staff were busy but friendly.”

“The service we received was excellent. This is a very homely family run hotel where the staff were were so friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was top quality as was the professionalism of the bar staff. I loved that the breakfast was served to order, the homemade brown bread was very tasty and that the Gin was served in proper Gin glasses. Its the small touches that make a difference. I would describe this as a very 'quirky' and individual hotel and I will definitely be returning.”
