“We were cycling the Via de la Plata and on this part of the route it was hard to find an overnight stop between Benavente and Puebla de Sanabria. We were relieved to find Las Mairas, and even more pleased when we arrived! In some respects Las Mairas is a restaurant with rooms. The young man who greeted us could not have been more helpful; it was a really warm welcome. We ate in the restaurant for both lunch and dinner and the food was excellent. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, and the setting is peaceful and rural. The property is linked to a bodega and the wine is very good. Indeed, as we were leaving the owners kindly gave us a bottle of the wine from the bodega. It was a really kind and generous gift. In every respect this was a memorable stay.”
