“This is a great bed and breakfast place run by a family. The room was very comfortable. Hot shower was excellent. The view from our room overlooking the corn field and mountains was beautiful. The room was better than expected. Breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful in advising us on our travel plans around Salzburg. Took the Sound of Music Tour by Panorama Tours, visited the Ice cave and Eagles Nest which was awesome. Do note that the Ice cave climb is quite a workout. 40 mins hike up the mountain and 1400 steps up in the Ice cave. You can also take a public bus into town from the hotel which takes about 20-25 mins.”

“The Laschensky facility was a real unexpected treat. I thought we would have a rural gasthof but ended up in a first class hotel with an absolutely top restaurant. If I'm not mistaken, the restaurant might be a bigger business than the 35 rooms in the hotel. Everything was great: very clean, good wifi, plenty of hot water, large room and bathroom (and I mean large), terrific breakfast, and comfortable beds. Wonderful staff. We were traveling by car and one reason we chose the Laschensky is that it has free parking. But a bonus is that there's a bus stop 100 yards away. This stop is for bus #27 that runs between the Salzburg airport and the old town. You can get a ticket for 3.40 euro pp that covers most public transportation for 24 hours; the bus runs every 15 or 20 minutes until about midnight and gets to the old town in 20 minutes. It was cheaper and faster than using the car to downtown.”
