“The hotel's location, at the bottom of the town and next to plenty of public parking, is perfect. The shaded terrace at the front is a lovely place to sit with a glass of local wine. The staff could not be more friendly and welcoming. We had asked for a room with a view and were given room 20, at the back of the hotel. We were not disappointed! The room has a spacious balcony with table, chairs, parasol and a glorious view of the countryside. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and I was pleased to find both bath and shower in the bathroom. The breakfast is generous for 9.50 euros - cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast, pastries, cold meats and cheeses and the breakfast room also has a wonderful view. This was our second stay at this hotel and although it is true that there are more elegant hotels in Vezelay they do not have the charm, nor the lovely staff, of Le Compostelle. We can't wait to go back.”

“Quaint tavern/hotel right across the street from the village walk to Vezelay Abbay. Our room was basic, but tidy, overlooking the garden and sweeping view of the countryside. The owner greeted us warmly and was kind enough to tell us the village parking fee would be waived for us. Wifi was good. We decided to opt for the breakfast, which was very good, including boiled eggs, cheese, ham and various breads.”
