“We particularly liked the whole character of the property including our room, the efficient friendly staff and food including breakfast and dinner. The room had great views over the river, and was conveniently located.”

“Great location for a visit to the Gorges du Tarn. We arrived a couple of hours early but the owner was very welcoming and advised the room would be ready in a short while - earlier that the published time. There is parking on site but also a free car park just across from the hotel. We had booked a table for dinner and this was served in the garden with great views of the gorge. We opted for the set menu and at 32 euros felt this was expensive as the food was average. We noticed the same desert was served to another diner was twice the size and wondered if this was because we had the set menu ? The service was very good. We booked breakfast in advance and initially felt 13.5 euros was expensive but it was excellent .”

“Located in the middle of the gorges area this converted castle is a great option for a one night stay or for anyone washing to hike, or boat, in the area. The room was large and well appointed. To reach it one has to climb up a circular stairway in one of the castle's old turrets. Staff help with our bags. The best thing is the hotel dining facilities. We had two excellent dinners during our stay and breakfast, while somewhat limited, more then adequate in a wonderful old dinning hall. The man and wife running the hotel speak English quite well and are competent, friendly, and efficient -- all one could want. Highly recommended.”

“Excellent hotel in stunning location. Charming historic room, very clean and comfortable with lots of atmosphere. Very good dinner in lovely outdoor setting with stunning views.”

“The hotel is in an excellent position in the little village of La Malene within the absolutely beautiful Gorges du Tarn. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have had during my trip. The room was a good size but there was furniture in the room that wasn't really required and the "desk" too small to use. The room had been finished beautifully and was very comfortable (except for the heat). The bathroom was excellent and the place was extremely clean. Food in the restaurant was good and the manager was very helpful. The hotel is across the road from the River Tarn and there is canoeing, swimming and other water activities available. This is a good place to stay.”

“Very nice hotel in a beautiful setting. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the dinner at the restaurant was very good.”

“This is a very special place in an exceptionally beautiful part of France. We highly recommend staying at the Manior.”

“Most beautiful location and the hotel looks great from the outside -like a little chatau”

, South Africa

“Elegant yet rustic room. Large continental breakfast with locally baked breads croissants and local jams. The juice was also from the region and top quality. Our room overlooked the river and had shutters, so charming! We had the best meal we had in France that night at their restaurant. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. We loved it there. It was the unexpected gem of our holiday.”

, Australia

“The lunch I had there on the patio was delicious and the setting divine.”
