“We were here off-season, staying for the first night in Sri Lanka (arrived on Mattala int. airport). The manager was a nice guy, arranged an early morning airport pickup (new car with A/C) and offered us a breakfast. Great was also the staff member Tilak, who cared about us very well, went with us to Exchange office (no fraud attempts), told us about good beaches etc.. Place is superclean, well equiped and with wonderful view. Little minus is the longer distance to tangalle beach (cca 15 minutes to start of the beach by a walk), but if you are interested in further travelling across the island, the main bus station is about 2 minutes far. Nothing less, than to recommend this place!”

“Mars hotel was fantastically located, a short walk from Tangalle bus stand, lots of ATMs, the supermarket and about 5 minutes to the beach. The room was extremely clean and it was also the largest and most luxurious room we'd had so far in Sri Lanka. The wifi worked well in the communal areas and the reception/restaurant area has the most fantastic view. We had breakfast up there two days which was definitely worth the extra €5. The best thing about Mars in the owner who is extremely hospitable and goes out of his way to help, would definitely recommend.”
