“Nice neighbourhood, good looking hotel. Warm ambiance.”
“The bed was comfortable. The restaurant meal was superb. Staff were extremely helpful. It was close to everything”
“Stylish Japanese contemporary Hotel. Beautifully decorated, polite well trained staff and excellent overnight accommodation. Perfect for the international traveller who needs comfort but equally an awareness of their surroundings.”
“The hotel was refined and cosy at the same time and the staff very kind and professional. Location was convenient for all the main attractions and Absolutely convenient price wise!”
“Hotel Kagetsu is one of the oldest hotels in Matsumoto, located a few minutes away from Nawate street and the castle. The appeareance is great, wonderful classic interior design. The rooms are comfy and relatively spacious. Included in the price we could use the public baths within the facilities. We were welcomed with green tea & Japanese sweet. They offer also a free shuttle bus to the train station.”
“Great location. Helpful staff. Excellent public bath. Bed was comfortable.”
“Great location right near the castle. The staff here were very nice and we had quite a large room compared to the other ones we have had so far on our Japan trip! Lots of great coffee shops within a 10 minute walk.”
“Great location - about 15 minutes away from the Station and five minutes from the castle. Great decor and feels very stylish and comfortable. Staff generally speak good English and are helpful. Plenty of in room amenities (tatami slippers included!)”
“Great location. Very nice "historic" feel. Our room in the main building was nice. Beaut little gift shop...giving a good choice of different souvenirs....and a great little coffee and drinks shop. Matsumoto Castle is close by and there are some good museums. There is also a very interesting wasabi farm on the train link...... and the magnificent Kamikochi National Park and walks...a bus and a train trip away. Also, must mention, the welcome and cup of Japanese tea was very nice. We also found a great little couple of restaurants close to the Hotel..... one called The Source, just around the corner (delicious) and a beauty called Doon Shokudo Indoyama.... unique....with a great cooking philosophy..... and flavours that make me hungry just thinking about our dinner there. Enjoyed the hotel onsen as well.”
“Very friendly staff. They help you with everything. The onsen is pretty good.”
