The fish finger burger was particular tasty, and the poached eggs, potato scone and vege sausage were also amazing. Having a small fridge in the room was so handy for keeping water chilled, and the temperature in the room itself was far from cold. The location itself is gorgeous, and the castle had a really interesting history. We didn't try out the spa facilities, but they sounded lovely.”

“Great location and set within stunning grounds. Close to Peebles and the Scottish Borders and also close to Edinburgh if one wishes to explore the Capital City of Scotland. This is an old property with history and has age related quirks but that has to be taken into account given the age of this building. Mercure is bringing this hotel up to date in a very traditional and subtle way if you want pristine then not for you if you want traditional and historic it ticks all the boxes.”
“The location is nice and rural. Near the nice town of Peebles. Not too far to travel to Edinburgh with a car. However these were the only good points of our stay.”
