Standard room makes very good use of limited space, managing to provide everything necessary while still appearing airy & spacious. Quite the contrast with a similar-sized room we stayed in at a Beijing hotel (Inner Mongolia Grand). Hotel is located inside a large, closed-off compound so very quiet & restful.”

“I always stay at this hotel complex when I visit Xi'an. The Mercure is the most economical, but I also have stayed at the Sofitel when traveling on business and Grand Mercure when traveling with my family. The buffet breakfast in the Sofitel is excellent!”
“Staff super helpful & pleasant. The Mercure is within the old city wall & within walking distance to many interesting things including the amazing & ancient 14km wall that is 600 years old & is intact right round the citadel. Also Muslim Street - a very lively market where ancient & modern mix, plus the Bell Tower & Drum Tower. We also had a fantastic private tour to see the Terracotta Army fr the hotel. Taxi to airport 160RMB or about £16 - pretty good as an hour's drive away. Stick with the Green & Yellow cabs! Hotel in a complex of hotels owned by same group - lovely pool & spa in Sofitel next door & good choice of dining options if like us you don't have a lot of time.”
