“Small and very comfortable guesthouse with positive and smiling householders. I feel myself in Mermaid Inn like home. Room very nice and comfortable and always clean. There is everything needed in the room: large bed, table, mirror, wardrobe and white bathroom. Every morning we have breakfast in the guesthouse cafe (which also very nice), prepared by owner with national pancakes. In the evening you may sit on the terrace with a beautiful view to the garden. I like this place very much!”
“The owners are lovely, friendly and very helpful people. We stayed there for New Year and were offered dinner for free and traditional breakfast in their home. Located in the quiet street, short walk to the beach and main road with shops and restaurants. Great outside siting area. Recommended.”

“i stayed here at this family-run place for an entire week to take a break from bouncing city to city. i liked that it was away from the main road and quieter. it was great value for the money-- i got a room with a fan and it was enough for that time of year. basic room, but clean. nice breakfast. also, i had arranged a car in town to take me to negombo from mrissa, but the car never arrived. i waited 45 minutes. the owner called her friend and arranged a new driver for me for 4000 rupees less! and her friend arrived within the hour. the owners are so sweet.”
“Staff were lovely and helpful. Room was nice and comfy bed. Nice area outside room to sit and chill. Had a 5am start for a trip and owners came and made me some breakfast which was totally above and beyond at that time of day. ”
