“This is a beautiful property overlooking the beach. Given that it is in a location that is not on the main tourist route it is a great place to base oneself and explore Tharangambadi or Tranquebar as it was called. The owners have done a wonderful job renovating the property and running a hotel there. A wonderful pool which is a respite after the heat of the day.”

“The mystique of Tranquebar is alluring. The colonial / heritage atmosphere of hotel and surrounds is very attractive to me. I loved exploring, sitting on the deep balconies, imagining the former glory of this gracious of town. Exploring surrounding towns like was also a plus. I'd advise travellers to stay at Tranquebar and explore from there as the standard of hotels in nearby towns is probably not as good. I drove on to Tanjavore, another Tamil Nadu gem. The alacarte menu was great at the hotel and the staff were friendly and attentive in the restaurant, especially Vijay.”
