“The staff were as helpful as possible under the difficult circumstances. They did try and give a service but we had to keep asking for things which we had as standard in our details.”
“Lovely small hotel in the New Town area. We were upgraded to a suite because of a fire in the adjacent part of the hotel and is was very comfortable with great views.”
“The staff really made an effort for making up for the lack of a restaurent and was very supportive for any inquiries”
“Really great historical building with friendly and knowledgable staff and an excellent Scottish breakfast.”
“Staff were amazing- and accommodations are well represented”
“The food was excellent in lovely quiet surroundings”
“Lovely hotel in great location. Very helpful and courteous staff”
“I would like to give this hotel a better score. Staff are very nice and accommodating and the restaurant is excellent . I had booked a single room but was able to upgrade( for a price) on arrival for two of three nights. The upgraded room was very very nice but the single room was really unpleasant and I had to spend one night in that room. Frankly they shouldn't use this room at all. Its in the front in the basement location very common in Edinburgh. Problem is that its under the front steps to the hotel entrance and people walking on the street can see directly in to your bed. The only solution is to keep blinds closed- but there were no translucent blinds or curtains! - only window cover was a horrible wooden shutter which when closed made you feel as if you were in a box- no ventilation- a really horrible room. If you stay in this hotel make sure you know which room you are getting- four star hotels should not have sub-standard rooms.”
“The staff on desk and in bar and restaurant were excellent couldn't do enough for you”
“Lovely room, but very small and hot. Needed fan and weather was not hot. Good location.”
