“At a cold time of year the bedroom was lovely and warm,. The meal offered was delicious and nicely cooked and presented. The price included wine and was very good value and to be recommended. The location was ideal for our purpose, and it was less than 5 mins in car to the mirador of Orellan, from where you can look down onto Las Medulas. Another 10 minute drive takes you to the old Roman gold mine working at Las Medullas. We will definitely try to return in the future.”

, United Kingdom

“We arrived late and were delighted to be met by a cosy bar with a fireplace and our friendly host Isabelle who gave us a glass of Orujo. The property's restaurant has real character and is set in the roof of an old barn. If you come to see Las Medulas, it is only a short and beautiful 1.7km walk (gorgeous with the morning mist). A charming property that we would definitely stay at again.”

, Australia

“The owner Isabel made the difference. Great hospitality. She also offers very good food at the restaurant. Really enjoyable stay.”

, Netherlands

“The hotel is in a quiet location at the top of a mountain next to Las Medulas which was the largest gold mine in the Roman Empire. Isabel and Juan Carlos were great hosts and the food was great. The views and smells on the mountain top was stunning”

, United Kingdom

“Isabel is fabulous - she is attentive and informative. She has great knowledge of the area and some good stories, too. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was also wifi that made it to the rooms, which we did not expect. Breakfast can be added for a small charge of 3,50 per person, this is worth it. It is well located for the Medulas and still quiet and relaxing.”

, Poland

“Beautiful spot. Rooms decorated with brio and beautifully rustic. My ensuite had a bath which was fantastic after a hard day of cycling. The menu for dinner includes Roman-style dishes to celebrate the proximity of the Roman-era gold mine which blew a mountain apart. In fact this was the closest places to stay to see Las Médulas, which are a 5m drive away for the breathtaking view at Orellán mirador. The owner is kindness itself, chatty but super respectful - makes you feel like you are the most important person staying there.”

, Spain

“We really enjoyed our stay here which is well placed for visiting las Médulas. Our rooms were comfortable and clean and the owner was really welcoming and helpful. While there is no parking on-site, there is free off road parking directly opposite.”

, United Kingdom

“We spent only one night in this wonderful hotel rural during our visit to roman gold mines of Las Medulas. The hotel is in a relaxing and peaceful place and has great views. The rooms are really nice, comfortable and clean, with a spacious bathroom. And last but not least... the host Isabel is warm, helpful, funny and friendly: she gave us a lot of advices about the area and things to visit. The food is delicious: we had both dinner and breakfast and everything is cooked using fresh and local ingredients. We will definitely return if we come back to Las Medulas again”

, Italy
