“Small boutique hotel that oozes history. Lots of pictures of the town and the property combined with quirky little arty extras. I loved the 1954 railway tickets displayed in our room (brought back memories) and the delightful array of tea cosies in the dining room. Our room was superbly decorated. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bed linen amongst the best that I have found in a hotel/motel. Generous ensuite bathroom with a full complement of towels (all super soft and luxurious). Great shower but the best feature in the bathroom was the underfloor heating, perfect on a cold morning. Friendly staff member stayed for our late arrival and enthusiastically showed us over the establishment and pointed us at local restaurants (nearby Vietnamese was excellent).”

“Everything, Barbara, Tina were most excellent of the 2ladies overseeing the property...nothing it seems faulted them...witty with a wicked sense of humour we wanted to take them back home with us...but Barbara came with 4 dogs and 12 chickens! This hotel has been re-vamped into its 1823 heritage but with 2018-20 year wiring, plumbing and major thought! It is an amazing hotel...from the photos of old on the walls to the heated bathroom marble floors and towel racks...not to mention the huge fluffy towels etc. This hotel is for those people who remember their heritage of yesteryear.”

“Fabulous floral welcome in the car park set the scene for the attention to detail at this delightful little hotel. Rooms luxurious with hand cut marble bathroom and owner Barbara happy to share their beautiful story of how it all came about. Much of the breakfast came from their farm right down to eggs and freshly picked & squeezed grapefruit juice. Paddock to plate without a fuss and served with a smile. Loved our stay here! Will definitely be back and recommend to our friends. Oh and real fire in the authentic lounge added to the charm for us! Had a little gathering with other guests when we got back after dinner. Delightful!”

“The chef cooked the best poached eggs on toast. I loved the quaint old world charm and it's peaceful history rich environment. The cosy fireplaces added to the wonderful ambience. I left the hotel feeling relaxed and refreshed. The high ceilings in the room, comfortable bed, towel warmer in the bathroom and guided historical tour of the property were a real bonus”
