“Palais Bayram is a boutique hotel right inside the Medina in Tunis. For those seeking a historically authentic atmosphere, it is the place to be. A restored 18th century palace of the mufti, the hotel has an old world feel and beautiful architecture. I booked last minute and was kindly upgraded to a rather grand suite with a comfortable large bed, the Blue Room (see my photo). Since the hotel is within the Medina walls, it serves as a convenient base for exploring the souk which is just a stone's throw away. It is not too far a walk from the gate on Boulevard Bab Menara.”

“+ Fantastic architecture, ambience, and interiors..lot of hard work has gone in restoring this place+ Location is great ... Zitouna mosque, the souks are right there. All the old world charm you need. Taxis don't go till the doorstep, but it is just a two minute walk.+ Staff is super helpful and friendly; went out of their way to provide a vegetarian dinner.+ Talking about dinner, the restaurant is very good.”
“It is a voyage through time. Staff very helpful especially Sawsan at the reception. Historic and grand historic rooms are big. Traditional room is smaller but still OK. bed comfortable. Breakfast is a choice of three set menus but all are good priced and quite sufficient.”
